3rd Annual Hallsley 5K Turkey Trot
Sunday, November 19, at 2pm. It’s time to get your running/walking shoes ready for the 3rd Annual Hallsley 5K Run/Walk Turkey Trot. The goal this year is to raise funds for St. Baldrick’s Foundation for childhood cancer research and ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation to help make life better for children with cancer. The Turkey Trot is a fun run/walk for the whole family to do together while making a difference in the lives of children with cancer. Two families in our own community have been impacted by the diagnosis of cancer in their beautiful children. We run in honor of sweet Rosalie Vaughan and sweet angel Luke Ungerer. Last year we raised $8000 so let’s beat that this year!
The Turkey Trot will be professionally timed with finish line photos by Commonwealth Timing! It doesn’t matter if you come in 1st or 50th, what matters is you make it to the starting line! Costumes are encouraged! River City Wood Fire Pizza will be in the parking lot firing up all your favorite pizzas for purchase all afternoon! A portion of all pizza sales will be donated to the cause so come hungry and take some home too! Thank you to Joe Lajoie, owner of River City Wood Fire Pizza, for supporting our Turkey Trot for the 3rd year in a row!
More details on registration, how to donate, the course, and everything you need to know will follow in a separate email!
Please RSVP to turkeytrot@hallsley.com by 11/17 with the number in your family that will be attending in order for us to plan appropriately. When you check in on race day, you will sign a waiver and receive your bib number.
Thanks to Sonja Harris, Susan Williams, and the Hallsley HILLbillies Running Group for helping with the organization of this event and volunteering along the course! If you have a high schooler that needs community service, this would be a great opportunity. If you would like to volunteer, please email Sonja Harris at sonjaharris@verizon.net.
