It’s time to get your running/walking shoes ready for our 5th Annual Hallsley 5K Run/Walk Turkey Trot! Our goal this year is to raise funds for Massey Cancer Center through East West Communities Foundation Friends of Massey.
The Turkey Trot is a fun run/walk for the whole family to do together while making a difference in the lives of those with cancer. Many families in our own community have been impacted by the diagnosis of cancer. We run this year in honor of our breast cancer warriors, Mailoan Hale, Dana Koelmel, Amy Sumser, and Heather Werkmeister, and the many family and friends affected by cancer we all know and love.
The Turkey Trot will be professionally timed with finish line photos by Commonwealth Timing. It doesn’t matter if you come in 1st or 50th, what matters is you make it to the starting line and run or walk in honor of your cancer warrior!
Your donation will be matched by East West Communities Foundation and will be part of their $1.5 million pledge to VCU Massey Cancer Center to be used for research in the area of immuno-oncology, the ability to harness the immune system to fight cancer.
VCU Massey Cancer is among the top 4% of National Cancer Center Institutes in the country. The East West Communities Foundation commitment allows VCU Massey Cancer Center to fast forward this research and bring clinical trials to cancer patients.
Please RSVP to turkeytrot@hallsley.com by 11/15 with first and last name, age, and gender of everyone in your family that will be attending in order for us to get you preregistered with Commonwealth Timing. When you check in on race day, you will sign a waiver and receive your chip and bib number.
Registration on Race Day 1:00 – 1:45pm
Race begins at 2pm
Entry fee: Donation amount of your choice to Friends of Massey. Donations may be made by check or online. East West Communities will be matching all funds raised at the Turkey Trot!
